Meet Lara

Lara Anstie has 25 years’ experience in family law, mostly in family law litigation.

Lara is a self-confessed law nerd, social justice warrior and neurosparkly. Lara is Tasmanian born of immigrant parents, and a child of divorce herself. Lara studied law at the University of Tasmania then relocated to Western Australia to begin her career, first in the WA public service, and then in private practice from 2003.

Over her time in Western Australia, Lara trained in interdisciplinary collaborative practice, trauma informed practice and for the last decade, focused her work on protecting the survivors of family violence in the legal system, including writing, teaching and empowering survivors to take back their lives.

Lara and her family relocated to Canberra in 2022, where Lara worked at Leo Cussen Centre for Law teaching and mentoring graduate lawyers, and then home to Tasmania to care for her elderly relatives in 2024.

Lara is all about supporting you making informed decisions about your future and how you want to live it.
